The best finish for use as a non slip surface, very level with a stippled effect similar to texture of a concrete block. Also know as Dolly Pointed finish
Fair Picked Surface
half way between fine picked and rough punched finish
Rough Punched Surface
the roughest finish by hand used normally on lintels or kerbs where a more natural look is required.
Other finishes available
Flamed Finish - this is where the granite is burnt, this will produce a surface similar to fine picked but the area will be slighly shiny after flaming
Sawn Finish - smooth surface, some saw marks in granite
Honed Finish - smooth surface with the saw marks removed
Polished - High gloss finish, this is when the granite will show its true colours
Clean Cleaved - rougher than Rough punched just like a broken, ie natural not worked
Pineapple finish - similar to Rough Punched
Aciento, Satino or Brushed - a surface that has been flamed, and then had acid brushed onto it to give an old look, the surface will be like fine picked but the acid will have made the finish softer
